The Dronitek location in Sacramento includes both indoor and outdoor UAS flight fields. Our instructors are experts in each of their respective UAS fields and bring the highest level of education to our academy students. We also offer onsite training to specific groups with our large, mobile motorhome training center. We have trained hundreds of students from all over the US and other countries

Dronitek is located 25 minutes from the Sacramento International Airport.  Hotels are within a minutes from the training center.

Course

                                                            Educating Pilots of Tomorrow


The course was developed for corporations who plan to build up a pilot team and individuals that can achieve the best possibilities for drone applications. Through online learning and on-site, hands-on flight training, trainees will acquire the comprehensive knowledge and skills needed to become a professional pilot. This includes an overview of DJI’s latest UAS solutions, flight operation, mission workflow, flight safety knowledge, maintenance operations, and more.

CERTIFICATION


All trainees will be required to undergo a standard test after the training course, consisting of a theory exam and practical test. A DJI Academy certificate will be issued to those who pass the test, as a recognition of UAS application competence.

READING BEFORE REGISTERING

    

1.  After registering for this course, the campus you selected will contact you to confirm your registration and guide you through the steps to pay for the course. You can also contact the campus through the contact information listed.

2.  Once you have paid for the course, the campus will activate your account to access online lessons, and ship one Tello unit and remote bundle to you.

3.  This course includes online and virtual content. Once paid for, returns and refunds are not accepted.

4.  Before attending on-site training, you have to complete the online lessons and pass the e-learning exam first. Also, it is highly recommended that you practice during your own time with your drone prior to signing up for on-site training to ensure you can confidently participate in the class.

5.  Once you have completed onsite training, passed the final theory exam, and passed the practice test, you will be presented with a DJI Academy certificate.

Doug Wiedman

Doug Wiedman

Mr. Wiedman is Dronitek's lead flight instructor for our Mapping and Modeling and First Responder certification courses in addition to teaching our basic sUAS flight skills training course. Doug holds an AS in Computer Technology, BS in Political Science, MA in Inte
ational Relations, CA POST certificate, FAA Remote Pilot certificate, FLIR Level 1 sUAS certification in Thermography, as well as multiple FAA Part 107 Certificates of Wavier. In addition, he holds certificates from Pix4d as well as specific training in collision reconstruction utilizing sUAS. He is a retired Deputy Sherriff and a current law enforcement Remote Pilot with extensive experience training and developing sUAS programs for public safety and is currently a sUAS pilot instructor and Subject Matter Expert (SME) to 22 regional agencies and 4 counties including several Califo
ia State agencies. He has trained hundreds of students and assisted multiple public safety agencies in developing their own training programs including night operations.

Barry Morris

Barry Morris

Mr. Morris brings more than 29 years of business and corporate management experience to Dronitek. He has over 5,200 hours of fixed wing aircraft flight time including over 2,200 hours of manned flight instruction given, 34 years of accident/incident free flight operations and experience in over 35 different aircraft makes and models. Barry is currently flying as a FAA certified flight instructor in both single and multi-engine aircraft. He also holds a FAA Advanced Ground Instructor and Remote Pilot certificate and was awarded the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Flight Instructor Excellence Honor Roll recognition in 2013, 2014 and again for 2015. As a chief flight instructor, he has worked closely with the FAA in developing training curriculum for FAR Part 141 flight schools in addition to operating his own flight academy and is our chief instructor at Dronitek. He is passionate about aviation and strongly believes in providing the highest level of training to all our students.
