Yunnan Power Grid and UTC Establish Joint Training Center

On Nov 6, 2017, the Yunnan Power Grid worked cooperatively with the UTC to establish the Yunnan Power Grid & UTC Training Center. The Center aims to further facilitate and regulate the application of the Yunnan Power Grid’s multirotor drones for overhead transmission line inspection, search and rescue, and more. This cooperation will effectively improve staff drone operation skills, increase inspection efficiency, quality and emergency handling ability, strengthen the company’s drone management ability, and better promote drone inspection and training businesses.

The Yunnan Power Grid & UTC Training Center is now officially open. In the future, both parties will actively explore the application of new technologies such as UAV inspection, live operations, and emergency rescue while constantly developing professional UAV operation skills and comprehensively promoting UAV inspection efficiency to better ensure the stability and security of power grid operation.

The Hong Kong UTC Program will be offering two courses to start, one on aerial photography and the other on industrial inspection. The UTC Hong Kong campus is located in Sha Tin and will be run by DJI’s Authorized Dealer OnTheGo (OTG).
